The Beautiful Fall

As the leaves begin to change and fall to the ground we realize that autumn is here to stay for a little while. There is something so magical about this time of the year that gives me a warm fuzzy kind of feeling and brings me back to my childhood. Doing things like gathering the leaves in a pile and jumping in them, carving pumpkins, family meals. Now that I’m older and no longer participate in most of these things I watch my 7 year old sister now partaking in the magic that is fall. She offers to rake the yard as long as she can jump around in the leaves. I decide to grab my camera and shoot this happening which annoys her but I do it anyway. She explains to me that she is the queen of this magical kingdom (a giant pile of leaves) that she has created and she will grant me permission to enter it. Ah yes, To be a kid again and not worry about things like bills and working and just pretend you're someplace else, the innocence of it all is a beautiful thing.

I saw a block of wood burning in our wood stove and thought to myself This could make an interesting photograph, so I put a new scrap in and took photos of it as it burned.

A Strange Mushroom

While I was roaming my woods I came upon what looked like an old golf ball from above, as I switched angles I realized that it was not a golf ball at all but a weird mushroom.
